Unwinding from the intensive Pegasus training is proceeding well... not much coding happening, but I did manage to make a batch of various sushi-maki rolls last night. Even managed to produce a couple of hand rolls.

I hand fashioned a sushi-rolling mat from a piece of thick inkjet paper and plastic wrap.

Now, this is no ordinary sushi- I've been working with a nutrition system which ix-nays all of sugar, rice and vinegar (main constituents of sushi), so this batch was made with Quinoa and raw stevia (sweetner). Dip the sushi in Braggs liquid aminos (instead of soy), close your eyes and bite; who could tell the difference? Not me! Hai! Taste-o Great-o! Arigato! Hai!

On the coding front, I've been working on a pet project involving Carbon, Cocoa, services and the Scrap/Pasteboard. Whew, talk about a poorly documented area of OS X....

元 Pegasus

I spent another few days in the OC area learning about a new body-mind system developed by Pino Carbone. It's a system of precision exercises based on a machine called the Pegasus:

If you're looking for a reference point, imagine the next step of evolution as Pilates evolved to Gyrotonic.

What makes this system unique is that the machine provides for constraints and movements which follow paths through spherical space, rather than simply along linear or curvi-linear paths.

元:DLP Cinema Projection

I was in Orange County for a few days and finally had a chance to personally experience a film projected with DLP technology (Texas Instruments). The venue was the Irvine Spectrum and the film was Spy Kids 3D.

The digital picture looks great, and conspicuously absent are the dust, scratches, reel change markers and flicker. Given the extremely high cost of duplicating films for distribution, the sooner every theatre is equipped with this technology, the better.
