What a Feeling First when there's nothing but a slow glowing dream that your fear seems to hide deep inside your mind. All alone I have cried silent tears full of pride in a world made of steel, made of stone. Well, I hear the music, close my eyes, feel the rhythm, wrap around, take a hold of my heart. What a feeling. Bein's believin'. I can have it all, now I'm dancing for my life. Take your passion and make it happen. Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life. Now I hear the music, close my eyes, I am rhythm. In a flash it takes hold of my heart. What a feeling. Bein's believin'. I can have it all, now I'm dancing for my life. Take your passion and make it happen. Pictures come alive, now I'm dancing through my life. What a feeling. What a feeling I AM MUSIC NOW Bein's believin'. I AM RHYTHM NOW Pictures come alive, you can dance right through your life. What a feeling. YOU CAN REALLY HAVE IT ALL What a feeling. Flashdance has a great ending. Even without Jennifer Beals kicking down into the best breakdancing backspin I have ever seen. The slippery sweater on a dance floor helped some I'm sure.

Forget the expensive, and inexpensive Cabernets. A $7 Delicato cab (2003) from Ralphs is my current favorite. The bouquet, which a scientist would normally call 'the smell', is fabulous. My favorite so far. With or without the company of la femme. Speaking of which, my rollerskates came in today. What timing! Quel frommage! Wine Styles.
Wired Magazine (Oct 05, pg 159) on Nolan Bushnell, inventor of the first commercial videogame "Pong", and the founder of Atari:
For Bushnell, the violence that pervades the media is equally corrosive. "There is a heightened sense of paranoia these days," he says. "People don't know how to approach each other without being considered a threat." Although, as a Space Invaders fan, I agree with Mr. Bushnell, I disagree with his solution (uWink restaurants). The solution is to eliminate email altogether. And barcodes and laser scanners are for grocery items, not people.
元:My Humps
Speaking of iTunes: iTunes: Gold Digger, I'm glad that I've never encountered one. In a way, it's a perspective really. In fact, to my way of thinking, iTunes: My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas is basically about the exact same subject, but from a different perspective. Songwise, Gold Digger is fun to dance to, but My Humps always brings a smile to my face. I guess I'm more of a My Humps boy, come to think of it.
If you've never heard either of these songs, they are well worth checking out, even if you have no interest in hip-hop choreography.
I'ma get get get get you drunk get you love drunk off my hump I will say this, though. If you split with someone and you really want to move forward and have a new life, it is vital that you cut all ties with the past. Anything that you hold on to keeps the new from being born. You can quote me on that one. Summer had it right in the OC when she dropped off the box of Seth's stuff. Her character is a veritable encyclopedia of how to do things right. Be innocent. Approach life simply. Be positive.

I picked up a copy of Flashdance on DVD from Tower at the WOW.
Although I would rate the theme song as one of the best dance songs from the 80s, I had never had a chance to see the entire movie without breaks and stops. I was able to watch most of it last night. I got up to the point where Jennifer Beals throws the rock through the window due to a simple misunderstanding. I guess those dancer girls run a little bit hot. There is a great breakdancing sequence where the dancer and the figure skater come across the guys dancing on the sheet of cardboard in the street.
It's amazing how much they showcase there. I was pretty good at the slow-motion stuff, moonwalk forward and backward, the robot. I had mastered handspins and kneespins and was working on headspins when I hurt my neck. It was hatha yoga that gave me back my movement. I'm, like, better than new now.
Irene Cara - my sisters and I used to watch Fame (TV) religiously. I guess I'm the only one that went for it. Back where I come from, the high school was rather small (just 150 kids from 7-12), so no 'special schools' for entertainers. I thought the Hillary Duff movie was good, even if rather light. But School of Rock, now there is a movie which perfectly captures the excitement and challenge of starting your own band. I mean, it's perfect really.
Ultimately, entertainment can become a path to master one's own self. It's a matter of focus: working on your own human development like a form of art. A private, personal art. No judges on that path. Just conscience. Even if I can't dance hip-hop, I could go toe-to-toe with Missy Elliot on crazy style. That's a fact.
Any truly passionate, creative act is going to look crazy. That's just how it is.
